Festival Drug
03:44
|
|||
It's early morning but I still haven't gone to bed
Movies of memories play on the screen in my head
Of last night, sparkling lights and loud music
And the rise in my chest as I melted into your kisses
You make me feel like I'm tripping on some kind of festival drug
All dazed and dazzled, uncertain what's real but just bursting with love
Floating away on a cloud, praying I never come down
Being with you is like taking a break from the world
On a rocket ship holiday orbiting the bright, blue Earth
Such a rush, I feel my pulse start to racing
Just the touch of your hand, it's sweet madness, my senses reeling
You make me feel like I'm tripping on some kind of festival drug
All dazed and dazzled, uncertain what's real but just bursting with love
Floating away on a cloud, praying I never come down
What a ride, I feel so alive when I'm lost in your eyes
Boy you're my drug of choice, my good time
You make me feel like I'm tripping on some kind of festival drug
All dazed and dazzled, uncertain what's real but just bursting with love
You make me feel like I'm tripping on some kind of festival drug
All dazed and dazzled, uncertain what's real but just bursting with love
Floating away on a cloud, praying I never come down

Trinity River
03:48
|
|||
He took me down by the river just to watch the sun set
It was summer in Texas and we'd only just met
The sky turned deep blue and purple blending into blood red
And that natural splendor might have gone to my head
He took me down by the river just to look at the sky
And watch the ripples in the water shimmer in the sunlight
We sat there shoulder to shoulder watching day become night
But then he pulled me in closer, wrapped his hand around mine
It was the Trinity River that got the best of me
The Trinity River in all its quiet majesty
He stole my heart from me down by the Trinity River
He took me down by the river in the town he calls home
He knew the prettiest spot where we could be all alone
And there he took me down, he took me gentle and slow
He took all of my loving and my heart for his own
He took me down by the river on a warm summer night
And the moment was magic, everything was just right
Just the sound of the water and the dwindling light
Bet I'll remember that evening for the rest of my life
It was the Trinity River that got the best of me
Oh the Trinity River in all its quiet majesty
The Trinity River exposed my vulnerability
It was the Trinity River
Trinity River just flowing into eternity
Oh the Trinity River in all its wordless poetry
The Trinity River, I fell in love so easily
Down by the Trinity River

The Man From Texas
02:51
|
|||
Well he's a tall cool drink of water
Speaks with a drawl, walks with a saunter
Southwestern charm disarms, leaves a girl defenseless
I fell in love with a man from Texas
He asked me to dance, a little two-step
His denim pants must be the kind that stretch
He Patrick-Swayzed me, left Baby breathless
I fell in love with a man from Texas
He's just so damn cute, humming a country tune
He's got me feeling ways I never expected
I fell in love with a man from Texas
They say that down there in the Lone Star State
They just make them different than anywhere else
Got me feeling like Davy Crockett said
I'm going to Texas, the rest of y'all can go to
Hello baby, here I come
I'm in the car, I'm on the turnpike
It's not that far to get to what I like
I'd drive five hundred miles for one of his kisses
I fell in love with a man from Texas
This Oklahoma girl done lost her senses
I fell in love with a man from Texas

Back To Life
03:48
|
|||
Gardens don't bloom in the darkness and the cold
Hearts leak out all their loving when they're broke
Roses turn brown and fragile when they're cut
Violets get the blues in the waning winter sun
And my heart had been sleeping for far too long
And my eyes had been weeping over what went wrong
But all that changed on the day you came along and
Woke me up with your love
Spring has come, you brought the sunrise
You brought me back to life
The earth remembers what to do with tulip bulbs
I'd almost forgotten how it feels to be in love
Give the Earth a little time, she'll come around to a brand new start
It took your warm smile to melt my cold, frozen heart
'Cause my heart had been sleeping for far too long
And my eyes had been weeping over what was gone
But all that changed on the day you came along and
Woke me up with your love
Spring has come, you brought the sunrise
You brought me back to life
You brought me back to life
You brought me back to life

Summer
03:27
|
|||
Last summer with my lover
Driving through the Midwest, doing what we love best
Making music, jamming with some good friends
A never-ending weekend
How life should be, we were living the dream
That summer, last summer
Last summer was perfect
Even when it went wrong, jazz improve on a country song
Sweet freedom, windows down and hopes up
Adrift upon a sea of love
How life should be, we were living the dream
That summer, last summer
Last summer up northern
Swimming in the Great Lakes, dancing in the purple rain
Picture postcard, just too good to be true
The one time I had all of you
How life should be, we were living the dream
That summer, last summer

Sorry
04:24
|
|||
Don't know how I got so lucky
Almost too good to be true
Don't know why it is you love me
Someone lovable as you
And baby, I, I just keep screwing it up
I keep getting it wrong, hurting the one that I love
Baby I'm sorry, so sorry
Please forgive me, I've been such a fool
Don't know why I act so jealously
Seemed to make sense at the time
But to treat your love so recklessly
I must have been out of my mind
And baby, I just don't know what to do
How to make it alright
Make it all up to you
Baby I'm sorry, so sorry
Please forgive me for acting such a fool
I might not deserve it but I'm gonna ask
Can you give me one more chance
Baby I'm sorry, so sorry
Please forgive me, I've been such a fool
I'm sorry, so sorry
Please forgive me for acting such a fool

The Undead
03:20
|
|||
He's a charmer, a disarmer
A warlock casting magic spells
He's nocturnal, he's infernal
Sexy devil come straight from hell
Pure seduction, the wolf is on the hunt
A predator that won't be tamed
He'll unmake you, try and break you
'Cause he feeds upon a woman's pain
He had me hypnotized but he was dead inside
He could light up a room with that painted on smile
A heart of stone rolling around in his chest
I thought that pounding meant he loved me best
Looks like the living to the untrained eye
But everything about that boy was just a lie
A creature of the night with a lust for blood
That I mistook for love
There are those who walk among you
They'll hide themselves in plain sight
They'll confuse you, you'll have no proof
Just a feeling something isn't right
When that feeling comes girl, better run girl
Trust yourself and trust your gut
Protect your neck from the undead
The monster trying to eat you up He had me hypnotized but he was dead inside
He could light up a room with that painted on smile
A heart of stone rolling around in his chest
I thought that pounding meant he loved me best
Looks like the living to the untrained eye
But everything about that boy was just a lie
A creature of the night with a lust for blood
That I mistook for love
My mistake
My mistake, my mistake
I gave him my heart but he just wanted a drink from my veins
My mistake, I gave him my heart
My mistake, my mistake
I gave him my heart but he just wanted a drink from my veins
My mistake, my mistake
He had me hypnotized but he was dead inside
He could light up a room with that painted on smile
A heart of stone rolling around in his chest
I thought that pounding meant he loved me best
Looks like the living to the untrained eye
But everything about that boy was just a lie
A creature of the night with a lust for blood
That I mistook for love

Lord, he done me wrong, now that man is long gone
Oh, but I'm still singing love songs
He wouldn't tell the truth, I had to cut him loose
Oh, but I'm still singing love songs
For the lying bastard who broke my heart
Don't know why he did me dirty
Don't know why he had to hurt me
But now I know what those heartbreak songs are all about
I sing them now like I mean them
And dedicating this one to him
The lying bastard who broke my heart
Playing Patsy Cline, drinking box red wine
I'm still singing love songs
I'm gonna wallow in my hurt, just pining for that jerk
Oh, I'm still singing love songs
For the lying bastard who broke my heart
Don't know why he did me dirty
Don't know why he had to hurt me
But now I know what those heartbreak songs are all about
I sing them now like I mean them
And dedicating this one to him
The lying bastard who broke my heart
I'm crazy for loving your cheating heart
Don't know why he did me dirty
Don't know why he had to hurt me
But now I know what those heartbreak songs are all about
I sing them now like I mean them
And dedicating this one to him
The lying bastard who broke my heart
Oh, the lying bastard, he was a no-good, dirty lowdown
Piece of something, oh the lying bastard who broke my heart

Only The Moon
05:01
|
|||
Starlight dazzles in the darkness
So bewitching, so romantic
The stars seem close enough to touch
But they're just clouds of gas and dust a million miles away
That's why the nighttime is for lovers
It's hard to clearly see each other
I closed my eyes and danced
Put my heart into his hands, I thought he was my new day
But he was only the moon, just a lovely illusion
I was taken my own reflection, a love to light up all of heaven
I burned like the sun but he was only the moon
First the crescent, but more each day
The man in the moon will reveal his true face
No warmth, but silver light
He'll get you through the night
He'll help you find your way
He was only the moon, just a lovely illusion
I was taken by my own reflection, a love to light up all of heaven
I burned like the sun but he was only the moon
He was only the moon, just a lovely illusion
I was taken by my own reflection, a love to light up all of heaven
I burned like the sun but he was only the moon
I burned like the sun but he was only the moon
I burned like the sun but he was only the moon
He was only, he was only the moon

Place To Land
03:27
|
|||
Noah let a bird escape from the Ark
On the three hundred fortieth day
Trying to find out if the waters of the great flood
Had begun to dissipate
'Cause if the waters receded the tops of the trees
Would be finding their way toward the sun
So Noah opened up a window
And let out a raven and a snow-white dove
Looking for a high, dry, safe place to land
Those birds flew far and wide searching for any sign
Of new life in a desolate land
They would fly til they tired, then come back to perch
On old Noah's outstretched hand
But the next day he'd send them, again and again
Never letting up or giving up
Because he knew there'd some a day when the rainbow would say
That the wrath of the Lord was enough
And there would be a high, dry, safe place to land
And my heart is a bird floating over a world
That's just drowning in hurting and pain
All around me is emptiness, endless grey sky
Breaking up into droplets of rain
But my wings are still open, just waiting and hoping
That soon my searching will end
And I will finally find a resting place in the face
Of an honest and true loving friend
Who can be my high, dry, safe place to land
Just looking for a high, dry, safe place to land
Still looking for a high, dry, safe place to land
